This brought a smile to my face today.  Sorry, Turkey, but I'm still gonna eat ya!

Moose Dropping Festival Parade, 2009

Little did I know, I was photographing a local icon back in July!  The Biker contacted me recently and filled me in on the history of this persona:

"The whole biker persona started about 10 years ago and it became a Moose Dropping expectation. Traditionally I crash the parade, (no permit) and ride back and forth picking up gals and kids for short rides, totally against parade protocol. The first year no one in town knew who it was and it was rather intimidating as I romed through town, but it lightened up when I did the parade on a 14" tall bike with training wheels. After that I switched to different costumes in different years, but it got to where the "Biker" was requested by so many people that I just stuck with it....though every year was a little different. ...Three years ago we had a new parade official from out of town. I decided I had better sign up. He wouldn't let me...said the town folks had told him I would crash the parade at some point and that he was not to stop me. Then I realized how much a part of the parade the biker dude had become. Its all been a lot of fun."

Sadly, 2009 was to be the final Moose Dropping Festival in Talkeetna.

Color Isolation on Dogwood

A new photo greeting card.

Autumn is a little further along in Oklahoma than at home in Texas, and the dogwood berries have turned a brilliant red.

Enjoy!
